A little bit about me

Meet Your New Favorite Nanny!

Hi! I’m Destiny, and I’m so excited to be a part of your little one’s world! After running my own business for four years, I reconnected with my love for kids and realized — this is exactly what I’m meant to do. Now, I work part-time at my church daycare, where I’ve built the sweetest relationships with families, and I couldn’t be more excited to expand that into nannying!

To me, being a nanny isn’t just a job — it’s about becoming a trusted part of your village, someone who supports your family with love, patience, and a whole lot of creativity. I love planning fun crafts, coming up with engaging learning activities, and helping toddlers explore numbers, letters, colors, and shapes in a way that feels like play.

If you’re looking for someone who will nurture, engage, and care for your little one like family — I’d love to chat! 🤍

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Catch the Fire Ministries Parents Morning Out - Lead Toddler Teacher (1-3 Year Olds)

• Lead a classroom of 10-12 two-year-olds during a summer program designed to ease their transition from home to school with love and patience.
• Currently leading a group of six one-year-olds, making every day a mix of giggles, first words, and big milestones.
• Keep parents in the loop on diaper changes, potty training, and daily adventures through the ProCare app, building trust and strong relationships.
• Delegate tasks to assistant teachers to keep the classroom running smoothly and ensure each child gets the attention and support they need.
• Teach colors, shapes, letters, and early social skills through play, storytelling, and hands-on activities.
• Created such strong bonds with families and children that multiple parents have asked me to babysit outside of school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love coming up with engaging learning activities and helping toddlers explore numbers, letters, colors, and shapes in a way that feels like play.

Some ways I do this include:

Learning Through Play – While we’re building with blocks or playing with toy cars, I naturally introduce colors, shapes, and numbers by saying things like, "Where is the red block? Can you say red?" or "Let’s count how many cars we have!" and encouraging them to repeat after me.

Reading Together – I love choosing library books that match their interests while also introducing new words, ideas, and concepts.

Themed Weeks for Extra Fun – I love being creative by choosing a fun theme each week, like “Farm Week”, where we practice making animal sounds and make a barnyard.

Engaging Screen Time – If screen time is part of the family’s routine, I make sure it’s intentional. I love using educational shows like Numberblocks.

Creative Crafts & Hands-On Activities – I enjoy planning simple, mess-free crafts.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is recognizing just how small a child’s world is between the ages of 1 and 4 — and how much of that world I get to be a part of. In these early years, their village is small, their routines are everything, and the love and care they receive shape how they see and trust the world. To be welcomed into that space is such a gift.

It’s more than just watching over them — it’s forming a bond that becomes a source of comfort, security, and joy as they take in the world around them.

Knowing that my love, patience, and care can make a difference in not just their little hearts but in the whole family’s life is something I never take for granted. To offer parents peace of mind, to be an extension of their love, and to truly bless a home with my presence —there’s nothing more meaningful than that.

Jakya H. - Seeking Work in Durham

Babysitter Available in Durham, NC: Jakya H.

Hi! I’m Jakya! I’m a third year psychology student who has always enjoyed being around and working with children. I have experience working in a daycare, where I got to work with different age groups and eventually became an assistant teacher in the toddler classroom. I really enjoyed getting to know each child, helping with their daily routines, and creating a fun, comfortable, and caring environment for them.

I’m a very patient, caring, and responsible person, and I love watching children learn, grow, and develop their own little personalities. I understand how important it is for parents to have someone they can trust with their child, and I would love to be that person for your family!

Joi B. - Seeking Work in Durham

Live-In Full-Time Nanny Available in Durham, NC: Joi B.

Hi! I’m Joi! I’ve been working in childcare since way before I did legally, my stepmother owned a daycare so I was a child working with children! I’m a very enthusiastic person, I don’t believe in the word “can’t”, I want to push these babies towards the right direction with care, love and understanding. My goal is to steer children down the right path and give them something to look up to! I love activities, I’m very musical and creative so I can make lessons fun, also healthy eating habits. I’m a peskitarian so my diet is limited itself. It would be a pleasure working with anyone who needs a little help and another positive soul!
