My experience with special needs children...

I had the opportunity to care for two children over a two-day period, including one child with special needs. At the time, I was 18 years old, newly working with children, and did not have prior hands-on experience at that level of responsibility. The children were 7 months old and 8 years old, which required me to balance very different needs and routines. This experience taught me how to be highly attentive, patient, and adaptable. I ensured both children were well cared for by feeding, bathing, and keeping them engaged and comfortable throughout the day. I focused on creating a calm and supportive environment, which helped make bedtime smoother. Caring for an infant, especially one who woke frequently during the night, was challenging at first, but I stayed consistent, responsive, and calm. This experience helped me develop patience and confidence in caring for children with different abilities and levels of care, including those who require extra attention and support.
