A little bit about me

Hello- My name is Dezire and I'm currently a Senior at Arkansas Tech. I've been working with kids since I was 15 and love it. I started by watching my younger sibling and then began babysitting part-time for my aunt & uncle & would later go on to be their nanny to their newborn. In 2017 I begin my career as a preschool teacher at Meadowlake Day School in Conway, AR. I've worked primarily with infants and toddlers, but I love kids of all ages. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am fun, empathetic, loving, honest and reliable. In my free time, I love writing poetry, reading and cooking.

Preschool teacher at Meadowlake Day school, the best experience of my life! In high school I graduated with a red cord because of my completion of all my child development courses. I volunteered after school M-F at the Boys & Girls club, and during school in my child development course I worked at our on campus day care during class.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Love of children, having genuine love of kids. Education, experience and special skills matter, but none of those will make a person who doesn’t truly love working with children a quality caregiver. Enjoying children and feeling honored to be a caregiver to them is the foundation that everything else is built on.

My experience with special needs children...

I was apart of an organization in high school called Caring Cats. We traveled to many elementary schools around town and helped with the special needs children. We were taught great things while being able to be of assistance.
