My name is Diamond and I am 19 years old. I have lived in Waldorf Maryland majority of my life. I am currently enrolled in College of Southern Maryland for early childhood development. I am a straight A student and have been since high school. I love working with kids, as they are really just mini adults who need guidance to independence! Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a nanny for 8 months from the time he was 9 months to 17 months. I tutor him every tuesday and saturday, and my full time job consist of me being a teacher.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing water play when it is warm outside and for inside activities, make-believe, sensory play, coloring, cooking, and more.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most to me about being a nanny is the impact that I will be able to make on the children. I truly enjoy working with children, teaching them, being apart of their lives, and being someone they can look to for knowledge and guidance. To me being a nanny was so intimate and special to me because of the relationship I built with my buddy and his family.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with ASD as well as children with ADHD. I have also cared for a child that had a physical disability.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment with my buddy was when he first learned how to walk. He was extremely scared to walk but his mom requested that he learn to walk so he could go to sesame street for his first birthday. I would constantly have him stand/walk as constantly as possible, almost as if he didn’t have time to crawl. Eventually I caught him walking on his own but I couldn’t react because he would stop, and eventually when I did cheer him on, he pretended he did not know how to walk lol. He continued to pretend for about a week after until he decided to show everyone else that he could walk.
