Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My first job caring for kids was for a therapist (Shantel) and her husband whom was a firefighter (Mr Ben)… They had two boys Gideon and Micah.. Micah was shy and so quiet just wanted to be carried all day and Gideon was my hyper energetic buddy.. He was so passionate about everything he loved. He was fearless and spoke his mind… They were 5 and 6 years young.. both are now 17 and 18 my forever sweet babies that I love sooo much! Gideon is now a gentle Giant and Micah still hasn't changed. Gideon was a challenge but seeing him express himself and grow we had great times. I love all my babies it’s not just a baby sitting job it’s family, they become your pals, you get to be a role model a listening ear and someone you can learn so much from. Kids are the best! They were the best.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Indoor activities..
I feel each kid is different. Activities to me is a time for kids to be expressive. Allowing kid's to express themselves and through their expressions they will typically tell you what they like. Some kids are natural born painters.. So arts and crafts it is.. Some kids love dress up and get animated, my little actors and actresses so let’s have drama.. some kids love to cook. I believe every moment with a child is about developing who they are and what they are striving to become and they will often show you and tell you… So I cultivate those sides of them with activities. Some kids have so much energy and need outside time. Kids are just expressing themselves daily. They will show you what they like and don’t like. Within reason I love the allow them to be expressive when choosing activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Every aspect about being a nanny is exciting. It’s real life you’re caring for real humans. It’s something you have to truly love. Taking great care of people’s babies is so awesome. You can’t just do it for the money you have to do it because you truly care and love to care for others. It’s so rewarding. You’ll have someone that you helped and that stays with you forever. I have kids that I had as babies and they are now adults and they love me because I was very good to them. It’s a rewarding career.
My experience with special needs children...
My little Deion and Joseph are both autistics.. It’s hard to label them because to know them is to sit and watch them tap into a genius I’ve never seen before. I watched them both since they were 2 years young and 11 years young.
Autistic children are extremely brilliant. I had to channel my inner super power… there were many times I had to feel what they were feeling because some were not be able to express when they were hurting or upset so they would act out by being aggressive or crying loudly.
Understanding that a meltdown is just an expression.. Listening and being patient, figuring out what could be bothering them.. it could be a shoe thats hurting there feet or an ear ache if there tapping there ear.. taking time to understand there language and doing any and everything but writing it off as nothing!!
I love my pals and getting through our days may have been challenging but the heart I have for them got me through any difficulty.. they are so innocent and precious.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Wow!! I have so many nanny moments. One in particular would have to be when I witnessed my sweet babies get through obstacles. Being a nanny you want to protect them, help them and lead them to not make mistakes or to hurt themselves when there having there “I can do it myself moments” I had times when I had to give them the space to do things on there own.. then seeing them make good choices. It’s so exciting! Every milestone they take and succeeds is so exciting.
