Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to color, craft, make relays, and cook with children. I find that these activities really allow children to express their creativity. My all time favorite is probably playing super-heros though. Kids get super creative here.

The most important part of being a nanny is being compassionate. Kids are sensitive souls and it is important to foster their creativity and empathy for their future growth.

The most important part about being a nanny...
At one of my last counseling jobs, I supervised a young, autistic boy. He spent all 10 of his first days at camp digging a large hole in the clay. On water day, some kids filled his hole with water. He was obviously, and reasonably very upset. But instead of letting him yell and be unproductive about his anger, I got him to agree to fix the issue. We set boundaries with the other children and spent the rest of outside time digging the water out of the hole. We made it a challenge to see who could go faster, of which he won (obviously). We had a lot of fun with the clay and I never thought trying to vacuum water out of a mud hole with my hands could be entertaining. I was proven wrong.
