Hello, my name is Edie! I'm 13 years old, seeking a job for the summer to fill my free time, and start saving for college! I am a very social, caring, and mature teenager! The experience I have had with children has been amazing, and I am looking forward to having my own children in the future. I love taking care of kids, and I always make sure I am responsible. I have taken care of kindergarten students, as well as first graders in my school, and I helped my teachers when I was in daycare. I have changed diapers, and can do light housekeeping too. I have good grades, and I plan on going to college when I graduate! My goal was to start babysitting when I got older. I like to help other people out, including my community. I have a twin sister, and she is my best friend! I have healthy relationships with my friends and family. I am great around younger children, especially as a role model! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a teacher's assistant in school. In daycare, I was often asked to help the teachers with the younger kids. I have helped my moms friends with their children at get-togethers. I have experience with calming children down, and I am known for de-escalating situations, as well as using distraction as a positive tool. (My mom is a case manager and taught me that.) Younger kids are drawn to me because I am always friendly and warm.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

The activities I enjoy doing with children are playing outside, dancing, drawing, watching fun movies, and taking walks! I will always support whatever children may want to do as long as it is safe and respectful to them and the things around them!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most IMPORTANT part about being a nanny/babysitter is to keep the child you are babysitting SAFE. Other important parts about being a nanny is to feed the child, as well as letting them have fun but being safe at the same time.

My experience with special needs children...

In my school there is a special needs program. I tend to be very social with the special needs children by talking to them and standing up for them and advocating for them. I socialize with each of the children in different ways, even if I just have to be quiet. Sometimes, kids just want to have some quiet time, with someone there that can provide the comforting presence they may need.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was assisting a kindergarten teacher for the Halloween parade last year. I had come into the classroom to bring the children outdoors and around the side of the school for the parade. I came in and bent down to their level so I did not tower over them, and they got so excited to come over by me! Soon enough, I had about seven kids by my side, ready to go have some fun! I would say that the happiness that brought me and how those kindergarten students trusted me was one of my favorite nanny moments.
