I used to babysit for my local church several days a week. I was a nanny for a single mother of 2 for couple years. I worked at my local school daycare for 2 years. I nannied for a family of 6 for several years and did some babysitting here and there for many years.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love children. They’re such a joy to be around! Right now, I am watching my niece who is 4 now. But all these years seeing her grow up into her own person, it just amazes me every single time I’m around her because it’s like wow she’s so smart, sassy, silly, athletic and so very creative. It just brings me joy. And even at the age she is, I can see how nurturing she is and what a great mother she’ll be one day. So I’ll say I love watching them grow into the beautiful and wonderful people they are.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A little while ago I was babysitting for a couple in my neighborhood and they asked if I could help with their daughters hair and I told them no problem lol well… It turns out that she had really curly hair like mine, but her mom didn’t know how to detangle her curls so she would just put it up in a bun every day and it became a hot mess lol so we spent hours detangling her daughters hair together and I got to show her how to do it so that it doesn’t hurt as much. We both just had a huge laugh about the whole thing.
