A little bit about me

I am 22 years old. I was homeschooled through highschool graduation which I have found has given me unique experience with being able to help naturally incorporate learning throughout everyday life.
I then took a gap year where I began working as a nanny and was given the amazing opportunity to go overseas with a family who worked with women and children in domestic violence. I helped them get settled and start homeschooling.
I have since graduated with a business associates degree from Ivy Tech all while working full-time and volunteering part time.
In my free time I love to read, travel, work with different theater companies throughout central Indiana and more recently I've been trying to explore the city more to find fun hole in the wall places to eat or go shopping at!

I have experience providing attentive, hands-on care across a range of ages, including planning engaging activities, assisting with transitions, and maintaining consistent routines. In addition to formal nanny roles, I have also gained childcare experience through babysitting and family support situations, where I prioritized safety, communication, and creating a nurturing environment. My background in collaborative, creative environments has also strengthened my ability to bring patience, flexibility, and imagination into the care I provide for children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is providing a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment where children feel secure, supported, and understood. It also means being an extension of the parents’ values, needs, and expectations by reinforcing their routines, parenting style, and goals in a respectful and consistent way. Beyond meeting daily care needs, it involves building trust, maintaining open communication with parents, and supporting each child’s emotional, social, and developmental growth through patience, attentiveness, and intentional care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I really enjoy watching children experience new things and seeing how they process and make sense of the world around them. It’s especially meaningful to observe those “lightbulb” moments when something clicks for them.

Recently, I took my current nanny child to Fishers Agri-Park, where we were able to meet and feed sheep. Watching her recognize what a sheep was, connect it to the sound it makes, and then excitedly say “hi sheep” while continuing to “baa” at them was such a joyful moment. Seeing her curiosity and understanding develop in real time is one of my favorite parts of being a nanny.
