More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I grew up in a large family and have siblings with Down syndrome, which gave me early exposure to caregiving, inclusion, and supporting individuals with diverse needs. My mother was the Autism Administrator for our local school district and later earned her doctorate in education, so conversations about child development, special education, and advocacy were a regular part of life growing up.
As soon as I turned 16, I began babysitting and later worked at the JCC daycare center while continuing to pursue opportunities helping children and families. Over the years, that path led me to hospitals, residential treatment programs, behavioral health settings, family advocacy, childcare, and private family support. Supporting children and families has been a consistent theme throughout both my personal and professional life.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love anything that sparks curiosity! Depending on the child's age and interests, that might mean building blanket forts, creating art projects, baking cookies, exploring nature trails, hunting for cool bugs and mushrooms, reading stories, visiting parks and libraries, doing science experiments, playing board games, or having dance parties in the living room. I also enjoy helping children build confidence and independence through cooking, problem-solving, and everyday life skills. My favorite activities are usually the ones children help create themselves.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is building a relationship rooted in trust. Children thrive when they feel safe, understood, respected, and supported. While keeping children safe and meeting their daily needs is essential, I believe the real magic happens when a child knows they have a trusted adult who genuinely sees them, values them, and helps them navigate the world.
A nanny has the unique opportunity to become part of a child's everyday life during some of their most important developmental years. I believe that means helping children build confidence, emotional awareness, resilience, independence, and a sense of belonging while creating an environment where they can learn, grow, and simply enjoy being kids.

My experience with special needs children...
Supporting children with diverse needs has been a meaningful part of both my personal and professional life. I have experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, behavioral challenges, and learning differences. I've helped support routines, appointments, therapies, educational goals, and emotional regulation while partnering closely with families and professionals. My approach focuses on meeting children where they are, recognizing their strengths, and helping them feel understood, supported, and successful.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It's hard to choose just one! One of the most meaningful experiences was watching a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder gradually find his voice and confidence over time. Seeing children discover their strengths and realize what they're capable of is incredibly rewarding.
That said, some of my favorite memories come from the kindergarten learning pod I facilitated during the pandemic. We spent our days learning academics, practicing emotional regulation, conflict resolution, communication skills, and healthy boundaries, but we also made plenty of room for fun. We hosted tea parties with fancy sandwiches and dress-up clothes, went on scavenger hunts, explored nature, created art projects, and celebrated small victories together. It was such a special blend of learning, growth, connection, and childhood wonder, and it reminded me that some of the most important lessons children learn don't come from a worksheet.
