More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Since I was eleven, I have been babysitting for families in the community that I know, whether for the day or just for date nights. There are five families who I would nanny for on a weekly basis, and others who I would babysit for sporadically. I also would regularly volunteer with refugee children from preschool to fourth grade to help them with their homework. I also regularly work in the nursery at my home church, with children ages 0-3.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing creative activities with children, such as art and crafts. I also enjoy outside activities, such as playing sports or going to a playground. Reading aloud, having dance parties, and building forts are also some of my favorites!
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part about being a nanny is being encouraging and building the children up in all I do. I want their lives to truly be better because I am involved. I want them to feel like there is always a person in their corner - one who believes in them and will help them to become the most successful version of themselves!
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have any particular experience with special needs children, but I would love to work with them and would be willing to learn!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment happened just this summer. I was watching three children for the night so their parents could go out on a date. While getting the oldest, a four-year-old girl, ready for bed, she asked if I could give her an "Elsa braid." Her mom later informed me that she refused to take the braid out, saying that "Miss Elise made me so pretty!" This is one of my favorite moments because it emphasizes how much I want to be there for the kids I watch. I want their lives to be better for me being in them!
