A little bit about me

Hi! I am Elise! I am a student at Loewenburg College of Nursing (LCON) in Jackson. My plan is to either specialize in Labor and Delivery, or NICU/PICU. I have quite a bit of experience with babysitting. I have mostly done volunteer babysitting for family and friends in there time of need, but I have paid experience as well. I would prefer to babysit children from the ages of 3 months to 2 years because I have the most experience with that age group, but I am open to all ages!

I have a BLS Certification with the American Heart Association: this includes a certification in CPR and First Aid.

I am originally from Bartlett, TN, but I go to school here in Jackson. I occasionally drive back to Bartlett during the weekends to see family.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a nanny for a family friend with 2 children and multiple pets. I babysat for this family on and off (occasionally when in need of a babysitter) until they moved out of state in 2024. I started babysitting these children when they were infants until they were 8 and 10 years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

- Going on walks
- Going to the park
- Swimming
- Playing fun educational games
- Arts and crafts
- Watching movies (specifically older movies. ie., The Little Rascals, Narnia, The Sandlot, etc.
(I believe children, especially younger children, should partake in more physical activities, rather than using devices like tablets or phones. I believe that these devices have negative effects on a young child's mental and physical development.)

The most important part about being a nanny...

Creating a fun, educational, and safe environment for children to grow and develop. In my opinion, children interacting with non-family members, like a nanny, helps to decrease or prevent social anxiety in adolescence/young adulthood.

My experience with special needs children...

I have babysat children who are low on the Autism Spectrum, as well as children who have ADHD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was talking to the girl I babysat about Hannah Montana, and she had mentioned that she didn't know who that was. Being a 2000s kid, I was appalled. After that, I put on 'Hannah Montana The Movie,' and she loved it! She now says it's her favorite movie!
