A little bit about me

I am a full time music teacher (kindergarten to 8th grade)during the school months, enriching CPS students with guitar lessons, class rock band and even facilitating youth choirs.

I look forward to working with a family and their children.
I am CPR certified, a former life guard and swim instructor and as a CPS teacher we are required to know all the in's and out's of food allergies, asthma, and other nurse duties.
In the past I have babysat and part-time nannied for families with children aging from new borns to teenagers.

My availability will be in the evening on weekdays, and I’m pretty flexible on the weekends. It all depends on what is going on for me.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve been a music teacher k-8 for the past 12 years. During that time I’ve had the opportunity to work with many different groups of children. Most classes that I teach are large groups (30+)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am very active myself and love the outdoors. Activities include, but are not limited to: arts and crafts, singing, dancing, softball/baseball, soccer, swimming, park games, reading books, and obviously lego building.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is that the children feel safe to express themselves and learn and grow in a safe environment when their parents can not be with them.

My experience with special needs children...

We have many students with special needs at our school. many of those students are nonverbal. I was also a full-time nanny for two children between the ages of three and five, who were autistic.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I really enjoy making everything, fun, from playing with toys, to learning how to clean our spaces. I established a routine with a family that I worked for, and the children really enjoyed when I would sing songs with them while we did boring tasks. It just made everything more fun.
