A little bit about me

Hello!
My name is Elizabeth Elow, I am 27yrs old and currently pursuing my degree to become a Registered Dietitian at Utica University. In my free time, I thoroughly enjoy reading, taking my dog on mini adventures in the ADK and spending quality time with my family. I have over 7+ years experience as a nanny. My duties included caring for various families with infants to children up to 8 years old, changing, dressing, feeding, driving to and from places etc, as well as little house keeping. I have experience in CPR training and first aid. As well as I have a clean driving record and cleared background checks in the past. I aim to create an environment that is safe and structured. My overall goal is to make every child feel loved and appreciated, while allowing them to express their creativity and to learn.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I also worked as a Sunday preschool teacher at Crosspoint Baptist Church in Whitesboro for about 2 yrs. As well as a babysitter for a women's weekly Bible study from January 2015-May 2017

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to encourage children's imaginations and overall creativity! One of my favorite activities to do is a mess free finger painting, which includes a small canvas with drops of paint in a ziplock bag. Then the child uses their finger to created a design thus "painting" without the mess!
I also enjoy taking them to the zoo, farmer's markets, the play ground etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the most important parts about being a nanny, is ensuring the child's safety and making sure that they are well taken care of. As well as respecting and maintaining the boundaries/ discipline methods instructed by the parents.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny, was watching a pair of twins, a boy and a girl both around 2yrs. We were working on our colors and the little boy never seemed to try to point out the colors, perhaps due to his sister would say it before him. One day we were going through our colors and I asked him to go first. He was hesitant at first and looked at his sister but she just remained quiet. He slowly answered and he was correct with choosing the right color! I continued to give positive renforcment each time he got the colors correct. His smile and contagious joy is something that I will never forget!
