I have volunteered with different environments with children such as Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and summer camps.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some activities I love doing with children are crafts, painting, baking, reading books, building forts and playing hide and seek. Outside I love to take them on walks or bike rides, go to the park, or play whatever games or sports they love to do! :)
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny for me is making sure the children are safe, cared for, loved, and are able to feel comfortable with me and have fun.
My experience with special needs children...
I have watched a family with three kids, the oldest daughter who was 6 years old had Asperger’s as well as some other health complications, and I was shown how to administer her medications, inhaler, and work with her needs.
I also babysat a friend’s daughter who had Down syndrome and was shown how to care for her as well.
My last nanny job I cared for a little girl who had a condition akin to cerebral palsy and I administered medication, as well as helped with some simple therapies for her at home.
I’ve grown up knowing many different families with special needs children so I am very comfortable with taking care and being around them. :)
