Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over 8+ years experience with kids of all ages. Most recently I was a full time nanny for a 3 month old until she was old enough to go to her preschool. Currently I work as a lead teacher in the toddler room at the Goddard School in Arnold and have been for 3 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I do prefer to stay away from screens or technology unless told otherwise by parents.

I think activities really depend on the child.
Of course I do have a never ending arsenal of ideas they need somewhere to get started, but I believe Im there to help foster their creativity and bring their ideas to life. Whether that be a monster truck demolition with block towers we built, or playing spies and going on secret missions outside. I truly enjoy letting your child take the lead.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important thing about being a nanny is to remember you are there to love, nurture, and guide them. Nannying is the perfect one on one time that every growing child needs. It’s especially helpful because in a classroom things can be so chaotic and confined because you have to alter your plan to 8-16 kids. When it’s just one or two children everything is completely different. It’s so much easier to focus on what that child’s needs and wants are. That’s what I missed the most about nannying and that’s why I’m leaving teaching.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Way too many to remember or count! The most recent though was having the little girl I watched from 3 months til she started daycare, be the flower girl at my wedding. I grew very close to the family while taking care of her and her brother. It was incredibly special seeing her all grown up after taking care of her for so long and having her be a part of such an important day in my life.
