A little bit about me

I am an energetic, reliable, and organized nanny with a passion for caring for children. I come from a happy, large family and with 4 younger siblings, I'm very comfortable with the busy, loud, and sometimes chaotic environment that comes with caring for many young children. I greatly enjoy being on my feet and staying busy, whether I'm running errands, cleaning, or making nutritious meals. A clean space is always a priority of mine, and having worked previously as a maid for four years, I have extensive experience in maintaining safe, clean, orderly spaces for children of all ages to thrive in. From runny noses and stomach illnesses to potty accidents, I have experience in caring for sick children and am comfortable handling soiled clothes and the sticky messes that come with life. I am very adaptive to the needs and requirements of parents and families, and am always aiming to build a genuine and comfortable connection with every child I care for. Please reach out with any questions!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have four younger siblings, and have helped my parents raise three of them since they were infants. All four of my younger siblings have been homeschooled, so I have also had extensive time helping them and working with them on school work. I also drive my three younger brothers to wrestling practice every week and do the grocery shopping for my family weekly and sometimes daily. I have also helped out in church youth activities, helping lead games and events for children of many ages and keeping large groups of kids organized and entertained. I have also done late-night babysitting for families of varying sizes, driving their kids to and from afternoon activities, making dinner, tucking kids in for bed, and staying up late with infants to feed them bottles and putting them back to bed.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being actively involved with the children I care for and greatly enjoy coming up with activities, crafts, and games that are both safe and fun, and enjoy trying find activities that appeal to every child's personal interests and capabilities. I prefer to keep screentime to a minimum if possible, and enjoy being able to give time for kids to spend outdoors and in nature, whether that's spending dedicated time in the backyard or taking the kids to the park. I also like to find different ways to help kids complete the not so fun tasks, like cleaning up after themselves and doing homework, with fun songs, activities, or games. I enjoy encouraging and rewarding good behavior through sticker reward systems and/or small prizes or treats (that are pre-approved by parents), which maintains a more positive and uplifting environment. I also make sure to keep parents involved and up-to-date by providing pictures and videos of the kids' daily activities, adventures, and happy moments.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important and vital part about being a nanny is the children I'm taking care of feeling comfortable and cared for around me and looking forward to the time we spend together. I want the kids to know that I'm equally just as excited to spend time with them, and also know that I'm a friend who has their back, not a disciplinary figure who they can't feel comfortable being themselves around. I want to create memories that the children can look back on fondly as their grow older and I hope to build a relationship with every child that allows for mutual respect, positivity, growth and comfortability.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have experience nannying for children with special needs, but I have worked and interacted with special needs children and youth at my church, which I greatly enjoyed. I am an extremely patient and understanding individual and am very open to caring for a child with special needs and taking the necessary steps and getting the proper education to properly care for every child I work with.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A favorite nannying moment of mine was when I was caring for a three year old boy who had a very limited vocabulary and preferred to speak with sounds instead of words the majority of the time. The child and I were playing with blocks, and I was repeating the word block while picking the toy up, in hopes that he would understand that the toy was called a block. Eventually, after enough time, the boy repeated the word block back to me, and continued to say it often from that point forward. It was a very exciting moment because it was the first word the child had said that wasn't words such as "Mom", "no", or "want" and it meant a lot to have been the one who taught him that new word and be there when he said it.

Ashley L. - Seeking Work in Battle Ground

Babysitter Available in Battle Ground, WA: Ashley L.

Hello! My name is Ashley and I have worked with children of varying ages babysitting and as a dance Instructor the past year! It's been an absolute blast working with ages 2-8 as I've gained a variety of experience from what keeps kids entertained to managing chaos on the daily! I truly adore kids and still spend most of my time with my two younger sisters and three younger brothers at home. We have a ton of fun! I grew up in a traditional Catholic home in Battle Ground spending my time practicing the piano, playing with my siblings outside and balancing extracurriculars while at CAM Academy. I graduated in 2022, but it wasn't until 2024 when I began working one on one with kids that I truly fell in love with helping younger ones feel seen and loved. I'd love to tell you more about myself to see if your kiddos think I'm the proper fit for them! I'm very flexible and love having a firm understanding of what family dynamic, rules and needs are required so I can be the best fit!
