More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes working as a nanny in Tuxedo Park for four years, where I cared for three children ranging in age from a newborn to 10 years old. I was responsible for daily routines, engaging play, meal prep, light cleaning, and creating a nurturing environment. I also currently work at the YMCA, where I’ve been for two years. I started as a site supervisor and worked my way up to a director position. There, I lead before and after school programs, plan activities, supervise staff, and ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children. These roles have deepened my passion for childcare and strengthened my ability to adapt to each child’s unique needs and developmental stage.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities I enjoy doing with children include sensory play, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, storytime, and building imaginative games based on their interests. I love setting up activities that support both creativity and learning—like themed crafts, nature walks, or simple science experiments. I also enjoy encouraging independent play and following the child’s lead, giving them space to express themselves while still being actively engaged and supportive.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with both the child and their family. It’s about creating a safe, nurturing environment where a child feels loved, supported, and free to grow into their unique self. Being consistent, patient, and truly present allows me to meet each child’s individual needs and support their development in meaningful ways. To me, being a nanny isn’t just a job—it’s a partnership in helping a child thrive.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children includes working with kids who have developmental delays, sensory sensitivities, and behavioral challenges, both in my nanny roles and at the YMCA. I’ve learned how to modify activities to fit each child’s individual needs and provide a calm, supportive environment that helps them thrive. I focus on patience, consistency, and building trust, using techniques that promote inclusion and positive reinforcement. These experiences have deepened my understanding of diverse developmental needs and strengthened my ability to adapt and support every child with care and compassion.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when the youngest child I cared for took her first steps while we were playing together. I had been encouraging her for weeks with lots of tummy time, assisted walking, and cheering her on during every little milestone. Seeing her stand up, take those first steps toward me, and flash the biggest smile was such a heartwarming and unforgettable moment. It reminded me how meaningful this work is and how lucky I am to be a part of those special milestones in a child’s life.
