To me being a nanny means, that we are there to help other families out if things become stressful, we are there to help your kids keep their minds off of things that are going on, we are there to help your kids get to their appointments, games, practices, and etc. on time.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for a kid with severe autism (non-verbal), I have cared for another kid with autism but he is verbal, I have cared for a kid who is blind in one eye and deaf in both ears, and I have seen my mother in law care for her brother who has cerebal palsy and wheelchair bound.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is just watching the kids I am caring for be happy and having fun.
