Hi! My name is Ellie Baxter! I am a current sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington majoring in Psychology. I have hopes to go to medical school post grad and follow the route of specializing in either family medicine or child psychiatry. As you can probably tell, I love working with kids and have had lots of experience working in childcare in high school and college so far! I have been a nanny for the same family for four years now and have babysat extensively as well as working childcare for various ministries and organizations. I love being outside, spending time with friends and family, reading, painting, running, and being active! I’m looking forward to meeting and working with you!

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love going on walks and bike rides, park/playground trips, swimming (I was a swim coach), and doing chalk outdoors! I am not the most athletic (haha) but am always happy to put on a glove and give my best at tossing a ball around. I love arts and crafts, especially watercolor, and love coloring! One of my favorite activities personally is reading, and I love to read to my nanny kids as well!

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with a variety of disabilities my whole life. Some of these include, but are not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Microcephaly, Cerebal Palsy, Lennox-gastaut syndrome, Gould syndrome and Hyrdrocephalus. I also have worked with children who have seizure disorders and are G-tube fed. I love my friends who are impacted by disability!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My 3 year old girl I nanny, the baby of my first nanny family, put a picture of us together on her "All About Me" poster as part of the family section for her preschool. I have been nannying for them since before she was born, so I've always felt like part of the family, but it really meant a lot to me to see that!
