A little bit about me

I'm looking to either work as a work as a babysitter, and I am willing to help with homework and aid the family in minor housekeeping needs. I've always had a passion for working with children, and if I can, I always try to help out with my relatives kids, and I helped my Mom out with raising my brothers.

In my free time I dabble in creative writing, I like to read, draw, play video games, and feed more into my interests. I also enjoy hiking and nature photography. I am currently a full-time college student in my Sophomore year at BSCTC (transferring to UK in the Fall), studying History, with intent to get a teaching certification once I have my Bachelor's.

* Pay is negotiable, but I will not go lower than $10/h. Please do not ask me to work for less tham that.
** I have a cat!! Putting that out there, because I know there are families with allergies. I always lint-roll my outfits once I step out of the house, but you can never be too careful.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a student-teacher for 6 months through an Ed. Fundamentals course, where I worked with 1st and 6th grade students. I also worked as a babysitter for a family friend for several months while she and her husband worked. She ended up quitting her job to become a stay-at-home mom, after expressing that she felt like she was missing too many important milestones for her infant. This is mote familial experience, but I also helped my Mom and Dad with raising my twin brothers, and I still do when they need me (this would not interfere with work hours).

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have any experience with high-needs children, but I have worked with keeping the oldest of my twin brothers on track for homework and chores. He also needs to be reminded to eat and practice basic hygiene, and I frequently try to stay on top of reminding him to do that. Contrary to how my parents think such situations should he handled, I have learned that patience and being kind whenever asking/instructing him usually makes him listem better.
