A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Elsa, I’m 21 and finishing my BA in Early Childhood Development. I started working as a regular babysitter, then interned at different curriculum-based schools for my degree. I worked with kids of all ages and treasure those memories dearly! I’ve nannying and homeschooling ever since, and find perspective of one child’s daily life beautiful!
More personally, I’m energetic and fun-loving, I love playtime with the kids I teach. I’m an artist, and translate that into projects within the classroom. I emphasize kindness. I have a doggie I love with my whole heart, Bangers. We share wanderlust and are nature geeks.
Working with kids is my life passion. They can teach us the same as we them, and they need support and nurturing that society often doesn’t provide them. Childcare/education is my career and I truly am fulfilled through it. Children are magical, and I adore the chance to see the world through their eyes and help to encourage them towards where they want to go!

We love exploring nature, getting creative with art projects, building sets, having theatre class, and playing with toys in new ways to encourage great ideas and positive thinking!

My experience with special needs children...

Specifically, I nannied a toddler on the Autism Spectrum who was unable to speak and often struggled with his emotions, but we enjoyed our time together and always worked things out to have a fun and peaceful day! I also taught a six year old with Oppositional Defiance Disorder from home after he was kicked out of school due to behavior. We absolutely loved each other and after learning more about each other, I found that learning one-on-one was actually the most encouraging a beneficial way for him to be supported, and he succeeded in his academics. Overall our days together were fun and filled with excited chatter and laughter, I loved him!
