My name is Emeri, i am 16 years old. Growing up, I was lucky enough to be introduced to hunting and fishing at a young age. Some of my earliest memories are of going out with my dad or an older relative before the sun had even risen, our gear packed, our minds focused. Hunting taught me more than how to aim and track—it taught me about discipline, preparation, and patience. There’s a kind of stillness in the woods that you can’t find anywhere else. You learn to wait. You learn to listen. Every sound means something. And sometimes, even after hours of waiting, you come home empty-handed. But that’s okay. Hunting isn’t always about the prize. I love the beach and the calmness of the waves but through all that I have learned Respect for nature, appreciation for life, and the understanding that the best things aren’t always the easiest—these are the lessons I’ve learned through hunting, fishing, and swimming. And they’re lessons I’ll carry with me forever.
