Outside of the classroom, I have experience as a nanny, babysitter, tutor, swim instructor (both open water and pool settings), camp counselor, behavior support provider, residential care facility staff member and house manager; all of these positions included work with children and adults that were neuro-divergent.

In short, surprising a 7 year old boy and his 3 year old sister with the news that I had adopted a kitten is one of my wildest, funniest, and most precious memories from nannying. This memory also includes the 3 year old's brief-yet-extremely-serious name brainstorming monologue... which, in turn, explains why I have a cat named Monster.
