For the last almost 2 year I have been a full/part time nanny for one family who has two girls two and under. I started with this family when their oldest was 8 months old and also took on their second girl right when she was born.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some things that I really enjoy doing with the kids that I am with is going on walks outside, coloring and imaginative play, reading books and also getting the chance to involve them in certain tasks that I am doing that can teach them new skills, like helping with the dishes or putting away their clothes.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There is most definitely more than one thing that is important about being a nanny but I strongly believe in a close and trusting relationship with not only the kids but the parents as well. I understand that it can feel really daunting having someone else care for your children so I try to make sure early on that the parents are able to feel a sense of comfort as well as the children that I will 100% be there to take care of their family.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There are so many to choose from but I love when the kids (however old) are just really happy to see me walk in because even though I am not their parent or a family member I still care for them as if they were mine and I love when they can feel that too. I also love seeing the children hitting either big or small milestones such as laughing or talking!
