More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
▪︎ I nannied part-time for a family with a 2- and 5-year-old for about a year.
▪︎ I was a part-time nanny to the infant son (2-10 mo) of a friend who needed to work.
▪︎ I worked at Thompson Ranch Elementary as a Special Education Instructional Assistant for 3 years. I worked one to one with a boy with autism in both a general and a self-contained classroom.
▪︎ I worked with a 14 y.o. young lady with ASD and other developmental disabilities for over 9 years. I provided basic services such as bathing, dressing, meal prep, and housekeeping. I also worked with her on educational, safety, social, and daily living skills. I provided transportation to doctor appointments, stores, restaurants, parks, etc. I often stayed overnight and cared for household pets.
▪︎ Most recently, I nannied full time for a sweet couple with a 3 m.o. for 1½ months. Unfortunately, this position ended prematurely due to the husband's unexpected job loss.
▪︎ I also serve in the nursery at my church every Sunday.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love reading to children. I enjoy educational activities, puzzles, board games, tea parties, playing make-believe, and exploring their creativity with various crafts. When the weather permits, I am a big fan of being outdoors. I also enjoy taking children to fun/educational places such as the Science Center, museums, zoos, parks, and movies.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I consider it a privilege to support families while they are busy working to raise up children with great care and provision. It is so important to establish a foundation of trust and respect in order to provide peace of mind. There are unavoidable challenges in life when assistance is helpful, even necessary (at least now and then). If I am able to be useful to someone, then I can enjoy what I do, knowing that I am making a difference.
My experience with special needs children...
I have 12+ years of experience working with special needs children in home as well as school settings. I am adept at supporting a structured environment, giving a sense of security and purpose, while creating fun activities which aid individual progress at an appropriate pace. I believe it is important for children to develop some level of independence (as they are able), in order to establish a sense of confidence and self-worth.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have too many favorites. Some are too personal or difficult to explain. But, in general, I love witnessing those developmental moments in a child's life when something (albeit educational or physical) finally clicks and they experience that sweet triumph of success or clear understanding. Those moments are priceless!

Hello my name is Michelle!
I’ve been working in childcare for almost 3 years, I started working with an agency which would offer work all around phoenix area. Then I started working at a daycare/preschool, I am now a preschool teacher working with children 3-4 years old. I don’t have any children of my own, but I do have a 7 year old brother who I’ve watched and helped my mom with since he was born.
