A little bit about me

I’ve been working in childcare for well over 15 years now, having extensive experience as a nanny. My first experience working with children was as a dance teacher which led me into childcare as a young adult. Child development and psychology are special interests of mine as well as working specifically with kids in the early childhood range.

I keep an active life style, I love spending time outdoors, and enjoy cooking. I’m currently studying herbalism in a local program, and am additionally certified both as an End of Life Doula as well as a Birth Doula. From birth to death, I believe our time spent here is meant to be filled with presence, joy, and wonder, which is why it’s such an honor to be able to spend that time with the special families and kids I’ve been nanny to in the past. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities - visual art activities (drawing, painting, sculpting, general arts and crafts projects), performing art activities (singing, dancing, playing with instruments, putting on productions, puppetry, etc.), reading & writing activities (happy to incorporate any school work into this if needed), simple and age-appropriate baking / cooking tasks, and so much more!

Outdoor activities - outings to local parks, museums, and other age-appropriate, family-friendly establishments (only if the family is comfortable with this, of course), offering fun and engaging education around plants, trees, flowers, and nature in general, swimming (I’m an experienced swimmer and am CPR certified) and of course, playing!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

is helping to foster young minds in their self-expression and creativity as they become autonomous, confident, little individuals!

My experience with special needs children...

Includes former experience as a dance instructor and in childcare with working with special needs kids, particularly kids with ASD, ADHD, Down Syndrome, and other unique behavioral/physical needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Always includes times where the kids and I get to create and use our imaginations together, however that plays out! Sometimes it’s making a blanket fort on a rainy day and reading fantastical tales, and others it’s taking a mindful walk through the park together, picking up special little items along the way like fallen leaves and sparkly rocks :)
