More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked at after school programs ranging in ages between kindergarten and sixth grade. I was also a camp counselor for 7+ years during the summers ranging from preschool age to third grade children. I have babysat on my free time and nannied full time in past years. I nannied for 6 years and with the same family. Both kids I took care of from newborn-4 months and continued until the oldest turned 6. I babysit for them still.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Crafts, reading, building forts, playing make believe, being outside, nature walks, anything the child/children want to explore, I am down!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny for me is being a secondary unit of care for the child, a playmate, a safe person to go to, and someone who creates an atmosphere that helps them succeed and grow as little learning individuals. In that same mindset, having parents put their trust in you to take care of their children. I treat, protect and love them as if they are my own!
My experience with special needs children...
I have had a few experiences with autistic children and hard of hearing children. I know some sign language as well.
