A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Emma and I am a student at NKU. I am majoring in Elementary Education and hope to teach kindergarten after I graduate! I have a little over 5 years of paid childcare experience, not including babysitting as a teen. I nannied for many different families over the years. This has included helping with guided learning during the pandemic as well as regular tutoring. I also spent 2 and a half years as an assistant teacher at a preschool. Working with children is my passion and I hope I can be a great fit for your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Previous nannying positions with 4 different families as well as other weekend/one night babysitting gigs, childcare at a recreation center, 2 and a half years assistant teaching at a preschool

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading, going outside, imaginary play, painting and coloring, guided adventures (reading or walking challenges, etc.), going to the museum/zoo, building with blocks and so much more! :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is making sure that the kids feel safe and loved. It is also important to me that I give them a space to explore and nurture their growing minds! :) But above all things, I always want to make sure the family I am working for knows that they can rely on me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have not nannied for any children with disabilities, however I have had children with special needs in my preschool classroom and other childcare settings. I have worked with families in assessing the potential needs of these children and creating individualized learning plans for the classroom.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have had many memorable moments with the kids that I have nannied. However, the one with the most laughs was probably when we used a canvas, plastic bag, paint and peanut butter to let the dog paint his own picture! It still hangs in their house to this day! :) I also very much enjoy getting to take my nanny kiddos to fun places like the zoo or museum. A not so funny but definitely memorable moment was when a families dog chased me off their property on my first day hahaha!
