In addition to many years of experience nannying - I have also worked as a TA for a preschool class of 3 year olds.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

As a musical theater actor, I love to bring that aspect of my life into childcare through imagination-based play, and allowing the children I take care of to feel comfortable and confident in their ability to create their own stories and express themselves through them. Because of this background, music and dance are also core activities I find myself going back to, music is almost always playing in the background while I'm nannying. I am also partial to classic arts and crafts, going for walks and adventuring outside, cooking (with appropriate clean-up following, of course!) and taking the child's lead on activities reflecting their developing interests.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Providing children with an environment in which they feel safe, loved, supported, and respected is to me the most crucial aspect of working with kids. As a nanny, I always find myself feeling extremely lucky to be a part of the lives of the families I work for, and to add another source of love and everyday care.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with speech delays as well as children with more specific medical needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To this day, nannying for a little boy right as he was learning to talk was such a joy! He learned new words every day and watching him piece them together and figure it out independently was so fulfilling.
