I started in childcare when i was 17 and am currently employed by the goddard school. i’m currently working towards my CDA and following soon after, furthering my education in early childhood development. as the oldest of a big family, i’ve held responsibilities for my siblings for as long as i can remember! i have consistent families i babysit for with multiple references i can rely to you!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
CRAFTS! i absolutely love making cute little crafts with the kiddos. wether we’re just coloring or painting a ceramic pot for mom and dad;) my all time favorite is being outside. i’m a firm believer that the sun heals everything! splashing in water, making up games, making art with chalk and obviously destroying some popsicles!
The most important part about being a nanny...
When i reflect on my decision on choosing to work with children i realized it wasn’t just the children i was supporting. yes, the point of a nanny is to have someone you can trust and rely on to take care of your child while you’re at work or just not available. But, realizing you’re helping the families and parents tremendously by being available, by building a relationship with their child and giving the parents a sigh of relief. knowing i’m providing help for the entire family is the most important thing about being a provider to me.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment is not a specific, but it would have to be when your children realize they’re comfortable with me. when i walk in the house and/or childcare center and they remember my name, run and give me a hug, come to me for the safety and reassurance they were once skeptical of. fills my heart.
