More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have six years of babysitting experience working with children of different ages, as well as three years of experience volunteering with neurodivergent children and children with special needs. Through these experiences, I’ve learned how important patience, flexibility, and clear communication are when caring for kids. I’m comfortable adapting activities and routines to fit each child’s individual needs and personality, and I always try to create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and comfortable being themselves.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love finding activities that match each child’s personality and interests. Some of my favorite things to do with kids include listening to or practicing music, playing pretend, playing with dolls, doing arts and crafts, playing sports, or just running around outside and being active. I also enjoy cooking and baking with kids, playing dress-up, doing fun makeovers, and coming up with creative games together. I’m also happy to help with homework, school projects, or practicing skills they are working on. For quieter time, I love reading with kids, doing puzzles, or finding other relaxing activities. I always try to keep kids engaged and have fun while also making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and supported.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite parts of babysitting is really getting to know the kids I take care of and building a genuine connection with them. I love when they start to feel comfortable around me, open up, and feel like they can be themselves. It is really rewarding when I feel like we understand each other and have built trust, rather than it feeling like I am just there to watch them. I try to make every child feel listened to, supported, and cared for while also having fun together and creating a relationship they can feel comfortable with.
My experience with special needs children...
At my volunteer job, I worked with neurodivergent children aged 5-8, guiding them through exercises that helped build essential academic and social skills. I taught strategies for overcoming frustration and self-doubt, encouraging them to adopt a growth mindset and persevere through challenges. Through storytelling, interactive activities, and group discussions, I helped them develop confidence and resilience. Over time, I saw incredible progress—children who once struggled with self-expression began communicating more openly, and those who used to give up easily started approaching challenges with a more positive attitude. Creating a supportive environment where they felt encouraged to grow was incredibly rewarding, and I loved knowing that the skills I taught would benefit them both in school and in everyday life.
