A little bit about me

I graduated from from the University of Michigan with a degree in Psychology back in May. I have a passion for working with children and hope to pursue a career as a child life specialist in the future. I began babysitting when I was 13 and since then have volunteered as a youth basketball coach, planned and implemented activities for children with a variety of special needs and their families, was an Au Pair in Italy and Ireland, was the head counselor at a youth day camp, and am currently the program intern at a facility for children with weakened immune systems. Outside of school and work, I love to run, spend time outside, try new recipes, and play card or yard games with friends and family.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been babysitting and nannying for the past 10 years. I have vast experience caring for children aged 6 months - 14 years old. I have been a volunteer sports coach, volunteered with children with disabilities, was an au pair in Ireland and Italy, was the head counselor of a kids day camp, and created programs for a non-profit rec center for immunocompromised children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am very active and love being outside and encouraging kids to spend time away from screens. With experience planning camp and rec programs for kids, I love creating developmentally appropriate themed activities, games, and crafts tailored around the kids’ interests or nearby holidays. My main focus is meeting kids where they’re at and trying to find activities that fuel their passions and hobbies.

My experience with special needs children...

During my time in college, I volunteered with and planned programs for a facility that works with kids with down syndrome. I also was the program intern and volunteer at a rec facility for immunocompromised children, so I worked closely providing support for this population.
