I’ve been a summer camp counselor for ages 6-12. I also went on a three week volunteer trip to Ometepe, Nicaragua while playing with and caring for local kids along with my six year old host brother.

I can’t decide between these two so I’ll share both…One time I baked cupcakes with my nanny kids and they were SO excited to get to help bake and decorate. Also, during my time in Nicaragua, there was a day where we spent hours at the beach playing in the lake and then walked back to the courtyard where we played a sunset game of baseball. The local kids were so excited to play with us and show off their skills. I learned so much Spanish from them and had the time of my life. We all build such strong connections that the kids cried as we left. My host mom even sent me a video of my host brother holding a letter I wrote for him in tears that I was leaving.
