More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I volunteer at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City as a music volunteer playing harp. Doing so allowed me to interact with the kids there! I have several regular babysitting clients all over Sl county and in my neighborhood.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Duck duck goose, baking cookies, going to the park, dance parties, singing, building forts, making crafts, coloring, playing barbies, race cars, dress up, I really love it all!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is making sure the kid(s) feel loved and safe. I always make sure to form a bond with the kids I watch to make sure that they know that I really do love them and WANT to be there playing with them!
My experience with special needs children...
I have taking two peer tutoring classes at my middle school and now high school (a class where I just get to play with the special needs kids at my school!) It's my favorite class. I love them! One of my regular babysitting families has a 4 year old down syndrome boy and I am used to him and now his strategies and I have babysat many kids with autism before. I have a cousin with down syndrome and a cousin with autism.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Maybe all the funny now, but not funny then moments are giant blow outs in diapers! I don't know why, but those always crack me up! Their innocent faces because they couldn't control it. It's so cute!
