The most important part about being a nanny...
Being able to understand kids. To be able to understand what's going through their mind when they misbehave or act out. It's important to understand this and act accordingly!
My experience with special needs children...
I haven't cared for special needs children before, but I, myself, have grown up with Autism and ADHD so while I don't have much experience, I should be able to understand the situation and adjust accordingly!
The most important part about being a nanny...
This is when I was on the bus. I was with a 1st grader and we were giggling and hanging out, waiting for our stops. And he, the child, asked if we could take a picture together. I, obviously agreed and pulled up my camera. I stuck my fingers behind his head and ruffled his hair. At that exact moment, I took the picture and was able to capture his expression of surprise, my own expression that of delight. It's something I'll always remember.
