At age 16 I started babysitting for my sisters friends, the kids ages ranged from 7 months-3 years old.
At age 19 I studied secondary education in school and got to teach 5th graders science as a student teacher.
At 20 years old I got my first job as a nanny. I watched 3 girls ages 2,4, and 6.
At 21 I was hired by a new family with a 6 month old girl and 2 year old boy. That i stayed with for 2 years.
At 23 I moved to Texas and became one of the primary care takers for my niece who was 1 and a half, and my nephew who was just born.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is to have fun. Being a nanny is one of the best jobs in the world. You get to play and have silly conversations and not be so serious. I think that as adults we forget to have fun but when you are with children you get to just play and be a kid again. As a nanny you play a huge part in a kids life and i try to think that watching kids is not my job, but is a life experience to make an impact on a child’s life where you get to see them grow.

Aside from watching over siblings and family for years, I use to also volunteer at a local elementary school from my middle school years to my high school years (roughly 4 or 5 years) where I assisted some teachers with tutoring and classroom help.
One of my first jobs was a child watch program at the YMCA. I worked there for a few months before I was transferred to the wellness department. Even once transferred, I continued to pick up some shifts with the child watch program.
