More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been working as a mother's assistant since the age of twelve, and cared for an infant and toddler. I worked with this family until I went to college at eighteen. I cared for the brother and sister throughout their life; providing support and time when the parents needed my assistance. Both parents had demanding jobs so I worked after school in the evenings and on weekends for them.
Additionally, I babysat for a handful of other families over the course of these years.
Over the past three summers, I have worked at summer camps as the teacher's assistant. Here, the group of children was significantly larger and required all of my attention and care, while also becoming great friends with the children! The ages ranged from 6 to 12 at the camps.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I find the best learning experiences, and memories can be found outdoors. Whether its going for a walk through the neighborhood, going to a local park, and just simply being in nature, children are given an infinite landscape for exploration and growth. A child's mind is so perceptive and hungry for knowledge: being outside provides them with the ability to harness these qualities of the world.
Spending time in the house and reading books, or doing any indoor activity is also a great way to entertain and bond with kids!

The most important part about being a nanny...
To be a nanny, I feel that one must possess a hand full of traits and have a clear vision of priorities that relate to child care. This person would be nurturing, responsible, healthy, and loving towards the children they are caring for. I also believe in the importance of having . a mutual understanding with the parent(s) of what is expected in terms of childcare, and for there to be a strong foundation of trust between nanny and parent.
My experience with special needs children...
I have not had experience working with special needs children, but I completely open to this. I feel that communicating with the family and developing trust between us, and an understanding of what is expected is important. Discussing and evaluation with the parent(s) would conclude whether I would be a fit for the family and their needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have so many happy memories working with children, it is hard to think of just one!
I would say the similar trait of these memories is witnessing children playing imaginatively, and fully being themselves.

I’m a Junior Musical Theatre student at UArts who would loves hanging out with kids. I’m new to Philadelphia and am looking for some money to help pay for college. Back in Pittsburgh, I babysat for most people on my block over the summer and on weekends. I managed to get the kids hooked on playing outside and going for walks, so keeping the little ones occupied has never been a problem for me. I grew up in the city and could bus or bike everywhere I needed to go, but if no license is a non-starter, I could work towards it in no time!
