Hello! I'm Eva. I am twenty six and have had the pleasure of working with children since I was a teenager! I received my Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art on the east coast. Painting and making art is a huge part of my life and something I love to integrate into working with kids! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have experience working with children of varying ages, with babies and toddlers in particular. I have had the pleasure of working with a primary family for the past 3.5 years. During that time, I cared for the first born from 14 months- 4 years, and the second born from 6 months to 2 years old! Getting to watch them transition into developmental milestones along the way was one of my greatest joys, as well as creating such a special bond. I additionally did light house work and prepared meals 3-4 days of the week while also helping with transportation with my vehicle.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I have so much fun letting the child lead activities with their own imagination while playing a supportive role! Spending time outside whether it be a nice stroller walk through the neighborhood, going to the playground or visiting a local park, I really believe in the value of outdoor time for play and development. Attending the local libraries for story hour or to sit quietly and read some books together is also a great indoor activity! Depending on the age, I love to let a child explore their environment while knowing they have a caring adult by their side. Imaginative play and hands-on learning are something I greatly encourage.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny for me is establishing trust with parents and the children. I understand the delicacy of having a caretaker come into your family's environment/ routine to care for your children and that requires lots of trust and security in your caretaker! Building a predictable routine in order to maintain an organized environment and schedule is very important for me. I want the child or children I care for to flourish in learning and play while trusting me as one of their caregivers, feeling free to explore their environment and grow as an individual!

My experience with special needs children...

I have had limited experience with special needs children. I have had some time working as an assistant teacher at an art camp in which we had a special needs child who I worked closely with throughout the session. I assisted him transitioning through activities and attended to his needs throughout the day as well as worked closely with the parents to make sure he had a smooth experience at the camp! Otherwise, I am not specialized to work with special needs but am open to it if the parents and I are openly communicating about what their child needs for care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It is so hard to choose one favorite moment! But getting to see a little one look at you with trust and love feels like I am doing my job right! Watching a toddler take some of their first steps and learn to speak is something I would never take for granted as a nanny.
