A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Eva, I am 26 years old. I am an experienced nanny with a strong background in both childcare and medical support. I currently care for three children (8, 6, and 2.5), with my primary responsibility being the 2.5 year old who is medically compromised. I am fully trained in his daily and emergency care, including dialysis treatment and setup, g-tube care and dressing changes, medication administration, and monitoring all physical mobility needs. I also support and reinforce his physical, oral, occupational, speech, and cognitive therapies to make sure he’s progressing in a consistent and encouraging way. Outside of medical care, I handle full-scope childcare such as baths, morning/night routines for all children, homework assistance, meal prepping and housework. I am currently in school full time completing my prerequisites for nursing as well as minoring in ASL. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently a nanny for a family with three kids ages ranging from 8, 5, and 2.5 years old. I’ve been with them for almost two years now and have gained tons of experience and confidence working for them. I worked at a daycare called Beyond a Dream Child Care where I cared for up to 14 kids at a time. I have worked with a couple of families, one being a four-year old that I cared for. The second family, I took care of a 9-year-old and a 14-year-old. My duties at these jobs have always been to provide a safe and fun environment for the kids, prepare meals, administer medicine, create bottles, diaper changing/bath time, transportation, occasional night care, help with any educational activities they have or that the parents want to be incorporated into the day for their children as well etc. On top with regular tasks, I have become trained in all dialysis care, g-tube training and comfortability, as well as being able to navigate mobility restrictions on toddlers.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love reading books, watching movies, playing outside. Bubbles, chalk, and play dough are some of my favorites. I love allowing the children to share their interests with me so we can enjoy them together. I think that's a very easy and great way to bond with the children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure the child is safe and happy. Always being transparent with the parents and letting them know how their child's day went and if you are having any struggles or concerns regarding the child. Creating a great bond with the child and parent.

My experience with special needs children...

I would say that I have a great deal in experience with special needs children. The child I currently am a nanny for is cognitively around a 9-12 month old even though he is 2.5 and does not know how to crawl or walk so he also has physical special needs a long with other things as well. I handle all of that care along with the emotional understanding behind it as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would play with Playdough a lot with the older children and we would have a whole restaurant setup. It was very fun to see them get so into setting up the menus and showing them different ways to form the Playdough to make different "foods".
