Hello! My name is Faith and I recently just graduated from CSU Chico with a bachelors of science. My goal is to become a Speech Pathologist and work in the schools. I have worked as a child care aid at a before/after school program at Los Perales Elementary School in Moraga. I worked there for 2 years before COVID shut everything down. I have also been baby sitting for about 4 years. My main hobbies are spending time outdoors and going to concerts. I love all animals, especially dogs. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been baby sitting for 4 years.
I worked at Los Perales Elementary School in the Bay Area where my responsibility was to supervise 30-100 children with my fellow supervisors (usually it was 5 of us depending on the amount of children). I would work there before the school day would start, and I would return after the children were released. I worked there for three years and just as I was getting a promotion, COVID happened.
Once I was living in Chico, I also worked for Emma Wilson Elementary as an after school aid. I worked there for about 6 months before I decided to quit and focus on school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor: board games, painting, making crafts, making jewelry, playing with dolls/action figures, hide and seek, reading, baking, etc.
Outdoor: walking, swimming, going to the park, playing soccer/basketball/tennis or any sport that a child might be interested in, playing with their animals, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure the parents and children feel safe. It is important to always make sure there is a clear line of communication.

My experience with special needs children...

I baby sat for a child in Chico who has autism. He is non-verbal so he would use an AAC device to communicate with me. I baby sat Dreyson for about 6 months.
