Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
as a swim instructor and supervisor at Goldfish swim school. I have been a partime babysitter for a toddler, a family with twin infants, and occasionaly for a family with special needs kids ranging from 4-9 yrs. I also enjoy teaching childrens class at my church.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing arts, crafts, playground games, movie nights, and studying in fun ways with kids. If a kid is interested in a sport or activity, I try my best to practice with them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
is understanding that each child is different and has a different set of needs. It is important to take time to get to know each kid, and personalize loving care for each child to the best of your ability.
My experience with special needs children...
At Goldfish swim school, I had to teach 4 kids in a 30 minute span, sometimes with special needs kids. Additionally, I have worked one on one with special needs kids that required extra attention. When needed, I also babysit my friends 3 kids, 2 of which are special needs and one is nonverbal. I know a little bit of sign language to communicate if needed.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I really enjoy taking kids outside for a nature walk or a fun time at the playground. My best memories with my past kids are outdoors in the sun!
