My experience with special needs children...
During my experience as a life group lead, there were a few special needs children under my care. I find most children, especially disabled/developmentally delayed children, respond better to positive reinforcement rather than lectures and scolding. Turning activities, even ones they don't want to do, into a game of sorts, really helps young minds wrap their heads around the tasks at hand in a fun and easy to digest way.
