I work by the principal belief that every child is to be expected, and accepted. Being a resource, and friend to the children in my care is my life’s mission. I aim to be recognized as a trusted adult who will support them in the winding path of childhood. Each day in childcare comes with surprises, frustration, and lessons we learn from children about ourselves - it is my job to always stay calm, and mind developmentally realistic and appropriate expectations. It is imperative to remind myself of a child’s lack of ability to emotionally regulate, and use a child’s logic to aid in problem solving.
