As of August 2020-September 2022, I worked with two grade school children and their lovely family in Ithaca, New York. In 2020 they were ages 8/12. I have previously worked with young children, aged 3-5 (two young boys), and in summer of 2022 I babysat regularly for two young girls aged 2.5 & 4.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love spending time outside, making cute snacks and having playtime with kids. Spending time to listen to the kids and see them happy is what’s important to me.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Having the ability to help parents and children in different ways. The relief the parents tell me about when they know their children are well cared for and loved, shows how much I truly am working to build trust and care with anyone I work for. Watching children grow has always been one of the most precious sights I’ve ever witnessed, as I have watched my youngest sister grow and have been in awe with her. When I was an assistant teacher at my dance studio I grew up in, the growth between the age groups, and getting to know those kids, was something I will forever cherish. Children have the imagination that’s unfiltered, and unbothered by the outside world, and we as adults can learn so much from them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is when the kids tell me all about their days, and hearing their imaginary friends. It’s so fun to listen to them be in their own world.
