A little bit about me

Hi I’m Gabbie. For the last 3 years I’ve been working as a kids swim instructor at LoveSwimming Nola. I greatly enjoy working with children and have worked with all ages and a multitude of children with special needs. I just graduated high school at The Willow School with honors and a Certificate in both Dance and Biomedical sciences. I will be attending Sewanee University in the fall for Pre-med as well as a minor in pediatric care. I love reading in my free time, taking walks in the Audubon park, and taking ballet classes. My mother is a kindergarten teacher at the Willow School and we share a love of teaching and working with children. I have been a babysitter, kids swim coach, camp counselor and volunteer for children at the Willow School. I am open to whatever age and would be more than happy to teach swimming lessons to any children as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love taking walks through Audubon park or bike rides. Definitely having indoor dance parties throughout the day. Reading is my favorite past time. I love getting ice cream at Creole Creamery. And most of all I love teaching swim lessons.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a nurturing environment for a child. It’s not only about supervision-but being a consistent positive presence in a child’s daily life. Allowing them to grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually. As well as being on the same page as parents on goals, values, and implementing routine.

My experience with special needs children...

At my job at LoveSwimming I work with many different children. I have worked with children who are on the spectrum for the last two years and have formed strong relationships with them and their families. I have also worked with children who are nonverbal.
