Hi there! I'm an 18-year-old with a passion for working with kids, which I've developed over the past three years as a swimming instructor. My desire to work with children stems from years of taking care of all my cousins and siblings, as I am the oldest. From the ages of 14 to 16, I was a camp counselor, where I had the joy of teaching children to dance and play volleyball. Becoming a swim instructor was very eye-opening and solidified my desire to make working with children a career. I'm dedicated, patient, and caring, and I'm more than willing to take any certification classes that parents may require to ensure the best care for your children. This fall, I'll be starting nursing school with the goal of becoming a pediatric nurse, reflecting the hard work and dedication I've had throughout my high school career while juggling a job and challenging classes.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've spent the past three years working as a swim instructor, helping kids become more comfortable in the water, learn how to float, and become more confident in their strokes. I mostly work with toddlers ages one to three, but sometimes I also work with children ages four to eight. Before that, from ages 14 to 16, I worked as a camp counselor during the summers, where I was an assistant volleyball coach and dance instructor. While my skills in volleyball and dance weren't perfect, I helped kids improve their skills and made sure they had fun. I also handed out food and drinks, ensuring everything was clean and well-managed. Throughout both jobs, I've been dedicated to making a positive impact on the children's experiences.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

If I were babysitting your kids, I would try to plan fun and engaging activities for them. If it’s okay with the parents, I would enjoy taking them to the park so they can play outside and stay active. We could play games with balls or other outdoor activities. Inside the house, I like doing creative things such as painting and coloring. I also enjoy helping kids with problem-solving activities like puzzles, which can be both fun and good for their thinking skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part of being a nanny is making sure the children are always safe and well cared for. It is also important to maintain consistency with the parents’ rules, routines, and the way they want their child to learn and behave. A nanny should support the parenting style of the family so the child has stability and clear expectations. At the same time, it’s important to create a positive environment where the kids enjoy their time together, feel comfortable, and have fun while still being safe and cared for. 😊

My experience with special needs children...

During my time as a swim instructor, I've had the opportunity to work with various children with special needs, ranging from severely special needs to those who are not as severe. Each child is unique, with different needs and wants, and I've learned to adapt my teaching methods to meet those individual requirements. It's been a rewarding experience, helping them gain confidence in the water while ensuring they feel safe and supported.
