I work with children ages 6-12 years old where I lead the children in crafts and activities. I administer first aid if necessary. I provide snack with the children. I volunteered at a preschool, working with children 3-5 years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts and crafts can not only improve neural development but can also stimulate motor skills. Activities that are focused around educational growth is most important for children at a young age. These are the two activities I enjoy most doing with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building trust, not only with the children but also the parents. Establishing this will allow a relationship to blossom and can leave long-lasting amongst yourself and the family.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with multiple children who have special needs. The main takeaway I have gotten from these experiences is to be patient. They are very aware of the environment around them so they can tell when you are short-tempered with them or are becoming irritated. Patience and understanding is all they are looking for. Allowing them to express how they feel is a big step for them so that is what I look towards when taking care of children with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have not worked as a nanny before but at the job I am currently working at, a moment that is my favorite was when I had come back from being out due to a surgery procedure and all the children had made me 'Get Well Soon' cards. Very heart-warming and majority including entertaining drawings.
