More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started caring of children babysitting for pay at 10 after taking my first American Red Cross Babysitting Certification... it has been a few decades since then and between clients and friends and family I have taken care of quite a few children of all ages at this point.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

A lot of interactive activities! Different ages ask for different things and I am happy to participate.

Littlest ones like tummy time and development activities and just that personal focused attention to build positive emotional skills.

A little older likes building and destroying blocks and playing trucks and tea time (I persoanlly prefer Earl Grey). But other interests start popping up too and I do know my 4th favorite dinosaur, does your child?

Barbies or supervising playing in the yard with sports time or board games are all activities I can easily help older kids have safe, fun with.

And if we really want to get "crazy" and parents are ok with it, I am always able to guide basic science experiments, cooking time in the kitchen, arts and crafts or small gardening projects for life and learning skills activities which can keep kids engaged and growing too!

My favorite moment was doing "archeology" with 2 kids once where I had gotten kits (which I now know how to make myself) and we took "tools" and learned how to find "bones" and items of "value" on the floor as if on a dig and talked about techniques and history and the kids had a blast using little hammers and chisles and brushes and finding the cool items they kept as "treasures" and also learning about ancient history stories for one of the young kids who was studying ancient Egypt in history (which gave the idea) and a few cool dinosaur facts for the young boy who was super into them. Definitely something they weren't expecting and they had a blast with the physical interaction but also learning stuff they were into at the time.
