I’ve never done this professionally it mostly just been family watching my little cousins and helping with some of my friend's kids, etc.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Playing with the toys together or helping with their focus level by reading to them, watching kid shows for example whenever I’m over at cousins house helping with his kids I always put on the kids musical learning show on YouTube called Gracie’s Corner and I notice they really like that and they become super attentive. So basically just things like that I love doing with children and I also remember to always be patient and keep in mind that not all children are the same.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure to leave a positive impact in every child's life that I come across whether for a split second or so I’m always aiming to make them smile. And at the end of the day seeing how happy the kids are whenever they see you. Reassures that you’re indeed doing an amazing job with them.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve never worked with kids who have special needs before but from what I learn patience and better understanding is always key.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Witnessing them improve In a skill that was a bit difficult at first or seeing the kids get excited about doing activities together, sometimes they’ll even bring their toys/books to you to read or play with them and that’s how I know they like me. At first, some kids when they first meet you they’re a bit nervous but once they see how you’re after a while they start to come around and those moments are very important and beautiful to me.
