More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In addition to nannying and babysitting, I worked in my church’s childcare program until it closed during COVID, where I cared for children of various ages in a group setting and helped create a safe, engaging environment. I also worked at a preschool while attending Ohio Wesleyan University, supporting daily routines, assisting with activities, and working closely with young children during important developmental stages. These experiences strengthened my patience, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple children while maintaining structure and positivity.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy keeping kids active, engaged, and having fun. I love outdoor play, sports, walks, and interactive games that keep them moving. I also enjoy crafts, creative play, and helping with homework or learning activities. I like to follow the child’s interests while also introducing new activities that build confidence and independence. My goal is always to create a balanced day that includes both fun and structure.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is building trust with both the children and their family. Creating a safe, supportive, and consistent environment allows kids to feel comfortable, grow, and be themselves. I believe in balancing fun with structure while being a positive role model and someone children can rely on every day.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was helping a child stay consistent with their daily Kumon homework—even when they felt like there were “better things to do.” At first, it was something they avoided and got frustrated with, but I focused on creating a routine, keeping them motivated, and making it feel manageable. Over time, I saw a big shift in both their ability and confidence. Watching it finally click and seeing them take pride in their progress was incredibly rewarding. Moments like that remind me how important patience, consistency, and encouragement are in this role.

Hi, I'm Brooke!! I just moved to James Island from Indianapolis. I have extensive experience working with children ages newborn to 12 years and have worked with special needs children as old as 24. I currently work as an ABA therapist providing therapy to children with Autism diagnoses. I have been in this field since 2018 and love it, but am looking to change careers. I am hoping to find a family that I can grow with and be a part of. I value those connections and think everyone, children included, can benefit from connections like that as well.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Charleston, SC: Emily C.
Hey! I am a Longwood Univeristy graduate, I majored in Psychology. I have cared for kids for several years now. I have a 3 year old sister that I cared for pretty much all the time before coming to college. I also worked in a daycare before coming to college for about 2 1/2 years. I enjoy watching kids learn and grow. I believe it’s important to teach kids with fun activities so they do not get bored and pick up things better. I also know that every kid is different so patience and understanding for each kid will vary. Cant wait to meet you and your little one(s)!
